History 2004: Xiotech Invests in Europe

With subsidiary in UK, and planning to open offices in Germany and France

Just like Atempo recently, although in the inverse direction from USA towards Europe, it isn’t the first time that Xiotech had invested considerable effort to penetrate the European market, at one time by hiring Andrew Batty, formerly of Seagate and chairman of FCIA Europe.

Now the company has established a European subsidiary in the UK, headed by European VP and GM Philippe Fosse, reporting to executive VP WW sales Mike Gluck. After working with Compaq, Dell and StorageTek, Fosse was most recently in charge of European channels and Southern Europe operations at McData.

Xiotech also plans to open offices in Germany and France.

This article is an abstract of news published on issue 196 on May 2004 from the former paper version of Computer Data Storage Newsletter.
