Cerabyte Unveils Ceramic Nano Memory Roadmap Towards Yottabyte Era
Green, secure long-term storage solutions scaling from petabyte to exabyte-class data center rack storage solutions using laser (2025-30) as well as particle beam technology (2030-45)
This is a Press Release edited by StorageNewsletter.com on September 18, 2023 at 2:02 pmCerabyte (Ceramic Data Solutions Holding GmbH), a tech company head-quartered in Munich, Germany, announced that Christian Pflaum, CEO and co-founder, will present at the Storage Developer Conference (SDC 2023) taking place from September 18 to 21 2023, in Fremont, CA.
He will unveil company’s Ceramic Nano Memory roadmap providing green, secure long-term storage solutions scaling from petabyte-class to exabyte-class data center rack storage solutions using laser (2025-30) as well as particle beam technology (2030-45). This technology enables affordable, high-density, accessible, sustainable storage for the Yottabyte Era retaining data virtually forever.
More than 70% of all data is rarely or never retrieved after 90 days, but often stored for decades on mostly HDDs, consuming a significant amount of data center energy while requiring replacement every 5-7 years. Once data is written on Ceramic Nano Memory neither power nor data migration and replacement of storage media is required.
“We believe that there is an urgent need to establish a sustainable long-term storage tier given the rapidly growing market demand for such solutions,” said Christian Pflaum, CEO. “SNIA seems to be the ideal organization to develop and promote architectures, standards and education through collaboration of all stakeholders. Cerabyte’s sponsorship engagement is a token of our support.”
He will present in the following 2 sessions and participate in the Birds-of-a-Feather event:
Ceramic Nano Memory – Data Storage for the Yottabyte Era

Cerabyte – Permanent Data Storage
