Qnap TVS-h874 Desktop 8-Bay NAS Series with 12th Gen Core i9 16-Core, i7 12-Core Processor, Intel Core Hybrid Technology and 2.5GbE/10GbE Connectivity

Qnap Systems, Inc. launched high-performance TVS-h874 QuTS hero NAS models that incorporate 12th Gen Intel Corp.’ Core i9 16-core, i7 12-core multi-thread processors with Intel Core Hybrid Technology for optimal computing performance and smooth multiple VM operation.

Integrating the reliable ZFS-based OS, PCIe Gen 4 expandability, M.2 NVMe SSD caching, and 2.5GbE/10GbE connectivity, the TVS-h874 assists businesses in building high-performance storage environments for hosting multiple VM, application servers, and running business data backup/restore applications.

“The new TVS-h874 models adopt Inte Core Hybrid Technology, combining Performance-cores and Efficient-cores,” said Andy Chuang, product manager. “The Performance Hybrid Architecture intelligently allocates CPU cores to different tasks, thus increasing the performance of the new TVS-h874 models by 3.55x compared with previous models.”

The TVS-h874 offers new SKUs of TVS-h874-i7-32G with Core i7 12-core/20-thread processor and TVS-h874X-i9-64G with Core i9 16-core/24-thread processor, leveraging the ‘Performance Hybrid Architecture’ for optimized CPU performance. These models support up to 64GB dual-channel DDR4 memory and provide 2x2.5GbE ports and M.2 2280 PCIe slots, allowing using NVMe PCIe SSDs to boost IO/s performance when configuring SSD caching. Fast PCIe Gen 4 slots are included for extending core NAS functionality, such as adding 10/25GbE network adapters, QM2 cards to add M.2 SSDs and 2.5GbE/10GbE ports, entry-level graphics cards to enable GPU passthrough to VM, and storage expansion cards to connect Qnap expansion enclosures. HDMI output allows users to directly display multimedia or VM content that are stored or running on the TVS-h874. The TVS-h874X-i9-64G is preinstalled with a dual-port 10GBASE-T network card for high-speed transmission demands.

ZFS-based QuTS hero OS UI

The TVS-h874 uses the ZFS-based QuTS hero OS. Designed with a focus on data integrity, the ZFS file system is self-healing and WORM compliant. It also supports block-level inline de-dupe and compression technology for optimal storage utilization, faster data transfer, and longer SSD lifespan. Up to 65,536 snapshots are supported to fully record system status and data.

The inclusive App Center provides various install-on-demand apps to further expand the application potential of the TVS-h874, such as VM hosting and containers (supports LXD, Docker and Kata Containers), facilitating VMware/Hyper-V backup, streamlining local/remote/cloud backups, simplifying Google Workspace and Microsoft 365 backup, and more.
