NetApp Suspends Business Operations in Russia and Belarus

In response to Ukraine situation

NetApp, Inc. is complying with the legal framework that the governments of the United States, European Union and UK have recently established, including all sanctions and regulations that are applicable to our business.

As a direct result, it has temporarily suspended business operations in Russia and Belarus.

Europe is an important market for the company, and we will continue to work carefully to assess and respond to any updates across the region as the situation evolves.

The firm with employees, partners, and customers across multiple geographies, stands by the principles of peaceful conflict resolution and that the protection of human rights are non-negotiable. It is deeply concerned about the safety and security of the international community and our thoughts of care, support and resiliency are with all those impacted during this troubling time. It is committed to the safety of its workers in Russia and Ukraine, and is in contact with them to offer support. As it navigates this evolving situation, it encourages care, compassion, and empathy within our global communities.

NetApp is also closely monitoring reports of increases in cyberattacks connected with this situation and will continue to update cybersecurity countermeasures as new threats emerge.

  • For entities that are based in Russia or Belarus and own assets outside of Russia or Belarus, can NetApp provide support on those assets (located outside of Russia or Belarus)?  
    The firm is obligated to comply with United States and European Union sanctions measures imposed on Russia and Belarus. Customers, entities, and partners with ties to Russia and Belarus are under review. The vendor will work with the relevant authorities to obtain approval for transactions, where applicable.
  • How do these sanctions effect the entitlements of assets in Russia or Belarus which are owned by a multi-national company (based outside of Russia or Belarus)?
    The company is obligated to comply with United States and European Union sanctions measures imposed on Russia and Belarus. Accordingly, it has suspended service and support to assets in Belarus and Russia until proper authorization can be secured.
  • In the case of a multi-national company with assets in multiple countries, will the firm continue to support assets located outside of Russia or Belarus?
    A multi-national company, not impacted by sanctions or related restrictions may still receive support on entitled assets located outside of Russia and Belarus. Additionally, employees not impacted by sanctions or related measures may continue to have access to NetApp Support Site so long as their support agreements are paid and active.
