Storage group Seagate reports strong 2021 at Derry operation adding 100 jobs
The storage group recruited an extra 101 people last year, as the Covid-19 pandemic and the introduction of remote working appeared to drive demand for its HDD products.
The Springtown operation, originally set up in Derry in 1993, makes recording heads for use in storage media products which are sold by the Seagate group.
Turnover rose 13% to $188.4 million (£139m) for the year to July 2 2021, the highest figure for 7 years.
