Designed to provide secure, isolated and immutable copies of all medical images with unlimited capacity services, Cloud DR mitigates the risks vs. natural disasters, human error, technological failure or cybersecurity breaches amongst hospitals, healthcare systems and radiology practice groups. Attendees at the 2021 Radiological Society of North America (RSNA) Annual Meeting taking place in Chicago, IL, may receive a debut of the solution at company’s booth.
According to Sophos’ 2021 State of Ransomware Report, 34% of healthcare organizations were hit with a ransomware attack last year, with attackers succeeding in encrypting files in 65% of incidents – much higher than nearly every other industry.
With Cloud DR, the company’s customers will benefit from cost savings and peace of mind as they seek to secure and scale their imaging archives.
“As the future of medic, image management increasingly moves to the cloud, Intelerad is committed to supporting our clients through the transition by providing innovative technologies that provide security, scalability and accessibility, all while also keeping costs down and improving outcomes,” said Mike Lipps, CEO. “Cloud DR is another powerful tool in our suite of solutions designed to provide our customers with peace of mind that their imaging archive is safe and recoverable. We look forward to showcasing Cloud DR at the annual SNA meeting this week.“
Additional benfits of Intelerad Cloud DR include:
-
Freedom from extensive storage and DR infrastructure investment and management, further enabling organizations to move from a Capex model to a more attractive Opex model
-
Cost reduction from eliminating the need to procure, rack and host extensive storage and DR infrastructure/management onsite, empowering healthcare providers to more strategically invest financial resources into valuable work and employees
-
Independent from PACS and VNA systems, ensuring Cloud DR study copies are isolated from other storage sets on the network
-
Built on AWS public cloud architecture so organizations only pay for the storage they need in an infinitely scalable way as storage needs increase
-
Replaces tapes and removes the need for tape support personnel
“We are at a point nationally where cloud migration is becoming commonplace, and health systems are increasingly willing to have their data hosted ‘off-prem’ by technology partners. Amongst CIOs, this happened because it’s now accepted as cost effective and safe. But for physician leaders, it’s exciting for different reasons,” said Dr. Dan Durand, chief clinical officer, LifeBridge Health. “Porting data to a cloud computing environment makes good clinical solutions work even better. For example, a community hospital system like LifeBridge Health would like to have access to a large number of FDA-approved AI algorithms to detect life-threatening pathology in CT scans. In the past, we needed to stand up and maintain unique servers onsite to allow each AI app to function, We are migrating to a cloud computing environment that is “pre-integrated” with numerous additional FDA-approved AI algorithms, so that our physicians can more nimbly try out new ones and decide which ones will help them care best for their patients. This will allow more patients to benefit from all that AI-assisted diagnosis has to offer.“
