This is a Press Release edited by StorageNewsletter.com on December 6, 2021 at 2:02 pmSeagate Technology Holdings plc launched the Exos X20 20TB and IronWolf Pro 20TB conventional magnetic recording (CMR)-based HDD drives, increasing mass-capacity storage capabilities.
Scalable and responsive enterprise solutions
Exos X20 enterprise HDD is designed for storage capacity and rack-space efficiency. Built with cloud storage in mind, the 20TB X20 delivers performance for hyperscale data centres and massive scale-out applications. With low latency of 4.16ms and repeatable response times, these drives provides enhanced caching that performs up to 3x better than solutions that only utilise read or write caching. These HDD also delivers a sustained data rate (SDR) of up to 285MB/s.
With available company’s Secure technology and a 2.5 million-hour MTBF rating, enterprises count on Exos X20 to realise data and operational efficiencies, and high storage densities in the datasphere.
The Exos X20 HDD can be paired with the firm’s recently announced Exos CORVAULT storage system to deliver data density in a small footprint. Built on U chassis accommodating 106 Exos enterprise drives in 7 inches (18cm) of rack space, CORVAULT offers over 2.12PB of SAN-level performance built on the firm’s storage architecture.
High capacity, dependable solutions for SMBs
The IronWolf Pro 20TB HDD offers NAS AgileArray technology to provide RAID reliability and compatibility during the heaviest NAS workloads that SMBs might require. Designed with built-in rotational vibration (RV) sensors, This HDD offers RV mitigation to provide reliable performance for NAS systems with little lag or downtime.
Purpose-designed for heavy user workloads, the IronWolf Pro 20TB features reliability with user workload rate limits of 300TB/year – a necessity for today’s NAS servers. It also offers sustained transfer rates of 285MB/s giving users the power to collaborate by sharing files, backing up, and tackling heavy workloads in multi-user NAS environments.
The drive comes equipped IronWolf Health Management system for access and monitoring drive health as well as a 5-year limited product warranty and 3 years of Rescue Data Recovery Services.
Shipping this month, Exos X20 20TB will be available for list price of $669.99 and IronWolf Pro 20TB is available for $649.99. CORVAULT is available via company’s distributors.
