With its fleet of Lyve Mobile data shuttles and arrays, Lyve Mobile enables businesses to move mass data quickly, securely, and simply from endpoints to the edge and to the landing destination of its data – be it private, public, or hybrid clouds.
“We have a remote production project called ‘The Ripple Effect’ in which we have a network bandwidth of only 35Mb/sec, making it difficult to push through 4K ARRI raw video footage,” said Dane Brehm, production technologist and digital imaging technician, Entertainment Technology Center. “Lyve Data Transfer Services make it possible to transfer and move 4K production footage to our cloud data center at the end of each day, quickly ingesting and moving the data, saving us time and money. Also, one of the things we wanted to facilitate as much as possible was ease of use and I’m not aware of any other company doing what Seagate is doing with Lyve Mobile Edge storage for data in motion.“
“With only a fraction of enterprise data being put to work due to economics and storage complexities, Seagate has simplified how mass capacity data is securely captured, aggregated, transported, and managed,” said Jeff Fochtman, SVP, business and marketing, Seagate. ” Lyve Mobile gives the distributed enterprise a simple and innovative mass-storage solution to lower overall storage TCO, move, scale, and monetize data, helping to drive value and growth. At the same time, our Lyve portfolio is a great opportunity for any reseller, system integrator or MSP to expand existing service offering or to start pivoting to the ‘as-a-service’ model with no additional infrastructure or skills investment.”
French customers can subscribe to Lyve Mobile data transfer services through the Lyve Management Portal. The web-based purchasing model enables end-customers or resellers to benefit from flexible subscription plans ranging from month-to-month plans to longer-term annual plans. Once registered and an account is established, customers can order a project in less than 3 minutes with the ability to customize a project, select devices and identify users for provisioning. Once the project is submitted, Seagate provisions the devices and ships them to the desired location. The Lyve Management Portal is easy to use and provides end customers or resellers and service providers with in-subscription device and multi-user management, plan and billing management, and the ability for full access and control over projects from scaling up or down devices to end of project data erasure.
