And saves "30%" on backup costs.
This is a Press Release edited by StorageNewsletter.com on October 4, 2021 at 2:01 pmNakivo Inc. announced that NextStep IT has selected its Backup & Replication to protect environment.
NextStep IT is a Tunisian integrator and cloud service provider that designs, deploys and operates solutions for various environments. The company’s IT infrastructure consists of 2 sites and their cloud hosts a data center with more than 40 physical servers and more than 500 VMs. They store various applications, including ERP and CRM, as well as other critical information. All data is vital for NextStep IT.
In case of data loss, NextStep IT’s brand name could be damaged in the eyes of their customers. That is why the company ensures data protection with the help of a VM backup solution for themselves and their customers at the same time. The firm partnership delivers backup-as-a-service (BaaS) offerings with the help of multi-tenancy and multi-platform support.
Backup & Replication provides functionality for delivering powerful BaaS offerings, while helping service providers protect their customers’ virtual, physical, cloud or software-as-a-service environments. It provides all-in-one data protection, user-friendly administration of multi-tenant environments, and an affordable pricing model. The solution can protect various platforms, including vSphere, Hyper-V, Nutanix AHV, Amazon EC2, Linux/Windows servers and workstations, Oracle Database and Microsoft 365.
“We are a Qnap Systems, Inc.‘s partner and we packaged our Qnap NAS server with Backup & Replication. All backup files are stored locally on our Qnap NAS and copied in the evening to the cloud data center. Installation and configuration of Backup & Replication was pretty easy, while the architecture of the solution is nice, too. The web interface is user-friendly and we have not encountered any issues with backup or replication functionalities,” says Boulbaba Labiadh, services operations manager, NextStep IT.
With multi-tenancy, the company can create up to 1,000 tenants and customize the interface to match each tenant’s brand. All tenants are managed via the web interface with a view of all the tenants. With the self-service portal, there is an option to offload backup, recovery and replication tasks to tenants by configuring roles for users.
“In terms of other supported functionalities, we appreciate backup copy and screenshot verification. Backup copy is vital for us because we do local backup first and then we copy the backup to the cloud backup repository. And screenshot verification is good for verifying finished backup or replication tasks. This functionality is basically insurance for our customers that their data is in fact protected. Also, it was nice that screenshot verification was included without an extra fee,” says Labiadh.
With Nakivo, NextStep IT protects their data and applications, as well as critical data of their hundreds of customers with the help of multi-tenancy. Multi-tenancy allows for providing BaaS offerings and managing multiple customers at the same time.
“We found Backup & Replication after researching online and comparing multiple solutions worldwide. In terms of time, Backup & Replication provides us the same speed as our previous solution, but Backup & Replication saves us 30% on backup costs, which is a big advantage, “says Labiadh.
