Thai TRC Construction Public Company Turns to Veeam

TRC Construction Public Company Limited, a construction contractor, otherwise known as an EPCC Contractor (Engineering, Procurement, Construction and Commissioning) based in Thailand, has chosen Veeam Backup & Replication and Veeam Cloud Connect to protect their systems and essential information to ensure their work can continue uninterrupted in times of emergencies.

As a construction contractor that focuses on infrastructure such as energy, communications and public utilities, TRC holds a responsibility to customers and also to the general public. Infrastructure is linked to people’s quality of life – therefore, project delivery is not just about quality and standards. Duration required for construction must also be considered.

“The construction business is primarily focused on people and documentation,” says Pavita Leesakul, director and VP of corporate affairs division, TRC, “But what we’re committed to is leveraging state-of-the-art technology to make work easier.“

With an increased reliance upon VMs, TRC also needs to be confident that the systems and data will not be compromised and interrupt their workflow. It had never used a backup and recovery service provider before and almost lost data as a result.

“Once, our server went down as some of our equipment was damaged and data wasn’t backed up successfully to the DR site, so there were problems with some of the data. Although, in the end, we were able to recover data from another DR site, the risk was worrying,” Leesakul recalled.

With Backup & Replication and Cloud Connect, more than 10TB of essential data has been backed up and replicated for TRC, which has made working worry-free, and also increased work efficiency and time savings, as data can be recovered and searched 10x faster. DR site management and manpower costs were also reduced by 50% and 20%, respectively.

“In future, IT or digital services will play a greater role in business management.
