Ed Fiore, VP and GM, Primary Storage, Left Quantum
He is founder of Atavium.
By Philippe Nicolas | August 12, 2021 at 1:30 pmAfter 5 1/2 years, Ed Fiore ended his Atavium story, now a Quantum entity.
Started in 2015 to shake the unstructured world with new ideas, approach and implementation, Atavium landed at Quantum in April 2020 to represent the next scale-out NAS phase of the company and be a perfect companion of StorNext. The product, named now ATFS for All-Terrain File System, offers an interesting model to tag, classify, migrate and tier data to deliver an optimized file storage experience based on advanced analytics. ATFS will play also a key role in the future Quantum product direction.
At Quantum, Flore was VP and GM, primary storage.
Before this Atavium/Quantum period, he spent several years at Dell and acquisitions made by the Texan giant and led some engineering efforts around Compellent and Isilon among others. Before that, he was at Cisco, NuSpeed and StorageTek.
