German Software Company Crossinx Chooses Nakivo Backup & Replication

Nakivo Inc. announced that Crossinx GmbH has selected its Backup & Replication to protect their environment.

Crossinx is a fintech company and a German service provider for financial business collaboration. It provides digitalization for financial and business processes for more than 350,000 companies. Based on their own network, it offers flexible and scalable solutions for e-invoicing, EDI, and supply chain finance.

Customers and their business partners use Crossinx services in more than 50 countries worldwide – regardless of existing IT infrastructure and company size.

The customer has an IT infrastructure that consists of 1 site, 7 physical servers, and 20 VMs. VMs fulfill the functions of Microsoft Active Directory controllers, web servers, file servers, and test environments. It needs to protect their data and applications to meet internal information security requirements as well as their customers’ requirements. The IT infrastructure plays a significant role when it comes to development and product processes inside the company. In case of data loss, further development of their products and customer support might be delayed.

Crossinx used manual backups or scripts for the internal infrastructure to protect their data. Using manual backups had many disadvantages for the company. First, it was difficult to orchestrate the backups from different data sources and types. Secondly, all backup and recovery processes were difficult to control and lacked transparency. The solution that the firm needed was a centralized solution, with an easy-to-use interface and rich functionality.

Backup & Replication performs consistent, image-based backups of Hyper-V VMs. The product also allows Crossinx to perform Windows Server backup, ensuring data consistency of applications and databases.

“The entire backup scope can be completed in a pretty short time. Of course, it depends on the server we want to backup. The fastest are backups of virtual servers, while backups of physical servers take longer. Usually, 10 minutes are needed to create a new recovery point,” he added.

“The native integration with Hyper-V is great and helps us protect our data every time we need to. The headache is gone when it comes to protecting critical servers,” he also says. “What we also enjoy is instant file recovery. For the recovery of only one 3MB file, we do not need to save 100GB partition and then find this file. We just choose the needed file and the recovery destination. The functionality saves a huge amount of time for us.“
