Total Compensation of Top Executives of Commvault in FY21

$8,004,986 for president and CEO Sanjay Mirchandani, up 31% Y/Y

Salary+compensation of executives generally follow the trend in financial results of their companies. For Commvault, the record was $18 million for former CEO and COB Bob Hammer in 2019, tripling from 2018. President and CEO Sanjay Mirchandani since February 2019, replacing Hammer leading company for more than 2 decades, got $11.9 million in 2019 and then $6.1 million in 2020, as company was shrinking with sales down 9% Y/Y in FY20. In FY21, the firm registered record annual revenue but was not profitable.

In a SEC filing (page 32), Commvault Systems, Inc. published the compensation during the FY19, FY20 and FY21 ended March 31 earned by both individuals who served as principal executive officer and its principal financial officer. We added the figure for FY17 and FY18 for current top executives.

* These amounts represent the guaranteed bonus due to Mirchandani as described in his February 2019 employment agreement, limited to FY19 and FY20. His other annual compensation in FY21 included a monthly housing and travel allowance of $15,000 per month for a total of $180,000 for the fiscal year, relocation reimbursement of $102,454 and $5,546 related to his 401(k) plan company matching contributions.
