15,457 square meters in Hsinchu City, Taiwan, near HQs, owned by LED chipmaker Tyntek
This is a Press Release edited by StorageNewsletter.com on May 28, 2021 at 2:30 pmPhison Electronics Corp. started its business in the consumer storage market and started its transformation plan in 2010 to expand various high-end storage markets, including industrial, automotive, e-sports games, servers, and Embedded ODM storage markets.
So far, more than 70% of revenue contribution has come from the non-consumer storage market; in addition, the firm has increased its investment in R&D ratio since 2015, and launched the world’s first consumer PCIe Gen4 SSD controller E16 in 2019. This has not only boosted company’s popularity in the global storage market, but global customers have increased their cooperation with Phison. For this reason, the firm approved a land purchase proposal by the board of directors to reserve growth energy for the next 20 years.
K.S.Pua, CEO and chairman, said that the newly-purchased land are located in Xiangshan District, Hsinchu City, about a 5-minute drive from firm’s Miaoli Zhunan HQs. The total land area is 15,457 square meters, and the total transaction amount is approximately NT$600 million. Since the Guangyuan Science Park where the Phison’s HQs is located has no extra land to purchase, under consideration of expediency, a location that is only a 5-minute drive from the HQs was selected to purchase the land.

K.S.Pua went on to explain that since the semiconductor industry is currently in a booming cycle, market demand is still strong, and customer cooperation projects are coming every day. Therefore, he hopes to add 300-500 engineers to join this year.
Furthermore, considering the continuous growth of company’s needs in the next 20 years, the existing land and R&D space are no longer sufficient for future use, and deployment is a priority.
