Madame Vacances Relies on DataCore

To modernize IT infrastructure with support of system integrator Resiliences

Eurogroup SAS, a French tourism actor offering under the brand Madame Vacances more than 96 destinations and 22,000 beds throughout France, relied on DataCore Software Corporation to upgrade its IT infrastructure.

The choice of DataCore solution allowed Eurogroup to reuse its old bays to build its PRA. Athenaïs Carlon, IT manager, Madame Vacances, said: “The DataCore solution made it possible to revolutionize everything without revolutionizing.

In 2019 Eurogroup has decided to modernize its infrastructure to improve scalability and ensure better BC and deployed a DataCore SDS solution, implemented by Resiliences SASU, a system Integrator based in Annecy, France.

The existing infrastructure was robust, but it has remained unchanged. For example, it included a Citrix 6.5 farm on Windows Servers 2008, hosted on 3 VMware ESXi servers. This provided users in the various establishments with around sixty offices, each offering around twenty virtualized applications.

These environments were stable, but aging,” says Carlon.

According to Laurent Schwam, sales engineer, Resiliences, the systems were also characterized by a certain heterogeneity, with storage arrays of different generations, iSCSI, SAS, etc. In addition, all was centralized at the same place, resulting in security risks.

Our goal was to rework the old systems, while capitalizing on the experience of our teams and keeping control internally“, explains Carlon.

The project also included a complete overhaul of the network infrastructure. Finally, the goal was to implement a DR plan without additional investments, by recovering old ESXs that could no longer scale.
