Qnap QTS 4.5.3 NAS OS Including Support for Google Edge TPU for Enhanced AI Image Recognition

With added support for Google Edge TPU (Tensor Processing Unit), businesses and home users can affordably leverage AI acceleration to enjoy faster image recognition in the firm’s NAS applications.
By leveraging Edge TPU to Qnap AI Core (the AI-powered engine for image recognition), the QuMagie in the company’s NAS can perform fast face and object recognition. When importing massive amounts of photos to QuMagie, the affordable Edge TPU can process thousands of photos with high-speed AI image recognition. Tests within the firm’s labs (*) on a batch import of 300 photos with faces performed at 22FPS with Google Edge TPU – 11x faster than without a Edge TPU (2FPS).
