History (1995): Egans’ Family, EMC Shareholders, Is More Than $100 Million in Green

By Jean Jacques Maleval | April 8, 2021 at 2:31 pmRichard (Dick) Egan, COB at EMC (Hopkinton, MA) and his wife Maureen, director of the board, each sold 2,604,000 shares of common stock that they held in the Massachusetts company.
Last May, shares were trading at approximately $20 each. All tolled, this adds up to over $100 million.
Even after this sale, the Egans, co-founders of EMC with Roger Marino, still hold directly or indirectly a mere 15,472,781 common.
At the same time, John R. Egan, the oldest son and EVP, exercised an option for 240,000 shares at 96 cents and now directly owns 362,500 common.
