HighPoint SSD6204 4-Port Driverless Bootable NVMe RAID Controller

$399

HighPoint Technologies, Inc. unveiled a 4-port driverless, bootable NVMe RAID controller, the SSD6204.

Highpoint Ssd6204 Driverless 2

It is the first of a new series of bootable NVMe host RAID controllers that were designed for professional and industrial workstation and server applications.

Supported OSs
The SSD6200 series enables customers to seamlessly configure bootable RAID storage using up to 4 M.2 NVMe SSD’s for virtual OS platforms, such as VMware, Hyper-V and Promox, and all current versions and distributions of Windows, Linux and FreeBSD OSs.

NVMe boot capability
These controllers are natively supported by a range of VM and OS platforms, including Linux, Windows
and VMware. RAID configurations will automatically be recognized as single volumes; no driver required.

Simplicity redefined: One-click RAID creation
Configure arrays with the flip of a switch. SSD6200 controllers are for users of any skill level. Customers don’t need to master a complicated RAID application to configure NVMe storage.

Optimizes production workflows
One-click RAID Creation enables solution providers and VAR’s to optimize production workflows. The onboard RAID switch flattens the learning curve by eliminating the need for an interface or application. You don’t even need an OS or input devices. Install the SSD’s, plug in the card, power on the system and toggle the switch.

RAID switch settings
Each controller features 2 hardware switches which can be used to configure 1 of 3 arrays modes (mirroring, striping and JBOD).

Distraction-free, zero-noise cooling solution
The SSD6204 can operate in silence. The full-length black anodized aluminum heat sink and ventilated full-height bracket dissipate waste heat away from critical NVMe controller componentry and the M.2 NVMe SSD’s without the aid of a cooling fan.

Intuitive and streamlined management suite
To streamline the RAID creation and administration process, the firm have developed unique versions of our WebGUI and CLI management tools:

  • WebGUI is for customers who are not accustomed to command line based management tools. Wizard-like quick configuration menus allow even the most novice user to get everything up and running with a few clicks.

  • CLI (Command Line Interface) is for experienced administrators and was designed for platforms that do not utilize graphical OSs.

SHI (Storage Health Inspector):
Both interfaces include our SHI feature, which enables customers to monitor the health of NVMe SSD’s via SMART attributes, in real-time, such as temperature, TBW (Total Bytes Written), and operational status.

The UEFI Package is a command line RAID creation tool used to prepare NVMe configurations for OS installation without the need for a separate OS or application.

Rebranding solutions
The company offer a RAID configuration interface known as MP Tool, which was designed for system integrators and VAR’s looking to rebrand an SSD6200 based NVMe RAID solution. MP provides enables small to medium scale solution providers to deliver custom-tailored, professional-grade RAID storage, with a unique identity and product branding.

OEM/ODM engineering and manufacturing Services
The firm understands the challenges solution providers are faced with when tackling a new project. Aside from the usual performance and capacity considerations, solution providers must account for the customer’s form factor, dimensional restraints, controller board placement, and workflow requirements.

The company assists OEM/ODM clients integrate NVMe RAID technology into a custom designed and manufactured RAID controller card.

The SSD6204 will be available in mid-March 2021 from North American reseller and distribution partners. (MSRP $399.00)
