SC20: Tyan (Mitac) Unleashes Cloud and Storage 1U/2U Rackmount Servers Powered by 2nd Gen AMD EPYC Processors
Featuring memory-based computing, scale-out applications, and SDS for data centers
This is a Press Release edited by StorageNewsletter.com on November 16, 2020 at 2:07 pmTyan, MiTAC Computing Technology Corporation subsidiary, introduced its a cloud and storage server platform powered by 2nd Gen AMD EPYC processors, which target modern data centers and enterprise markets, at SC20 virtual event during November 17-19.
“The accelerating deployment of AI, deep learning, and 5G technologies are powering cloud services we use every day, and therefore data center providers need to respond to these challenges and opportunities,” said Danny Hsu, VP, Tyan business unit, MiTAC. “Tyan’s new cloud and storage platforms provide a diverse range of highly capable options that meet modern application performance and power-efficiency requirements.“
Memory-based computing in 1U dual-socket server
Transport CX Gc79A B8252
The Transport CX GC79-B8252 and Transport CX GC79A-B8252 are 1U dual-socket AMD EPYC 7002 series processor-based server platforms featuring 32 DDR4 DIMM slots, 2 PCIe Gen.4 x16 expansion slots, and an OCP 3.0 LAN mezzanine slot. The GC79-B8252 provides 4×3.5-inch SATA drive bays and 4×2.5-inch NVMe drive bays with tool-less carriers, while the GC79A-B8252 offers 12×2.5-inch drive bays with up to 12xNVMe U.2 support. These two systems accommodate 2 internal NVMe M.2 slots for secure boot drive installation. Both GC79-B8252 and GC79A-B8252 are for high-density data center deployment with a variety of memory-based computing applications.
High-density, 2U server platform with 4 front-serviced compute nodes
Transport CX TN73-B8037-X4S
The Transport CX TN73-B8037-X4S is a 2U multi-node server platform with 4 front-serviced compute nodes, which offers better serviceability and minimizes on site servicing hours. Each node supports 1xEPYC 7002 series processor, 4×2.5-inch tool-less NVMe/SATA drive bays, 8xDDR4 DIMM slots, three internal cooling fans, 2 PCIe Gen.4 x16 expansion slots, 2 internal NVMe M.2 slots and one OCP 2.0 LAN mezzanine slot. The TN73-B8037-X4S platform is designed for high-density, scale-out server deployments in HPC and cloud service provider front-end processing server applications.
Cost-optimized 1U computing server
Transport CX GC68-B8036-LE
For deployments that require cost-optimized computing and application caching, the Transport CX GC68-B8036-LE is a 1U single-socket EPYC 7002 series processor-based server platform, featuring ‘x3.5-inch and 4.5-inch tool-less NVMe U.2 drive bays, is a direct fit for the workload. The expansion capability of the server includes a pair of PCIe Gen.4 x16 expansion and an OCP 2.0 LAN mezzanine slots. it can support up to 4TB memory by populating 16x 256GB DDR4 DIMMs. Meanwhile, the Transport CX GC68A-B8036 deploys the same motherboard asGC68-B8036-LE in a 1U chassis; accommodating 12×2.5-inch tool-less drive bays with support up to 12xNVMe U.2 devices for deployments with an extreme storage IO/s requirement.
2U hybrid SDS server
Transport SX TS65-B8253
The Transport SX TS65-B8253 is a 2U dual-socket EPYC 7002 series processor-based storage server supporting 16 DDR4 DIMM slots and seven standard PCIe Gen.4 expansion slots. The platform is equipped with up to two 10GbE and 2xGbE onboard network connections, 12xfront 3.5-inch tool-less SATA drive bays, up to f4xNVMe U.2 devices, and 2 rear 2.5-inch tool-less SATA drive bays for boot drive deployment. it is a self-contained, hybrid storage server platform designed for SDS deployments in the data centers and enterprises.
