Scale Computing: Edge Computing Trial Program With Hardware
Qualified customers can test AFA HE150 appliance.
This is a Press Release edited by StorageNewsletter.com on November 3, 2020 at 2:16 pmScale Computing, Inc. announced a no cost 30-day trial program for qualified customers to try its new Scale Computing HE150.
Built for multi-site deployments that need highly available infrastructure on-premises and remote management, the HE150 can be deployed almost anywhere. The trial will be managed with select Scale Computing Partner Community resellers who will supply the technology and consulting services needed to get started. Organizations interested in edge computing can sign up for a HC3 Edge 30 days trial.
As technology pushes its way into every part of business, the need for edge computing to support an application-driven world is expanding. The HC3 Edge technology brings simple, available, and affordable infrastructure for applications in places where IT resources are impossible. The HE150 can run applications at maximum uptime where it was not feasible to before due to location and lack of IT resources; use cases include retail, grocery, doctors’ offices, branch locations; manufacturing shop floors, educational facilities, local government offices.
“With no IT staff on site, downtime is a constant concern at each of our locations. Downtime can cost us tens of thousands of $s, and therefore is not an option for Jerry’s Foods,” explained Jeff Miller, director of IT, Jerry’s Foods. “Scale Computing’s innovative edge solutions are making a huge impact on my day-to-day IT operations and they lead the market again with this no cost trial. This is a great opportunity for those who want to understand how edge and distributed computing can benefit them.“
The HE150 appliance is a small, all-flash, NVMe storage-based compute appliance that delivers simplicity, efficiency, and enterprise-ready virtualization associated with HC3 platform. Built for sites that need highly available infrastructure, tit can be deployed almost anywhere, without requiring a rack or server closet. Taking up only the space needed to stack 3 smartphones, it also includes HA clustering, rolling upgrades and integrated data protection.
“Edge computing enables organizations to run applications at maximum uptime where it was not feasible to before due to location and lack of IT resources. Scale Computing customers rave about how simple it is to implement and deploy the HC3 Edge platform. The simplicity of the self-healing platform, driven by automation and machine intelligence, allows Scale Computing customers to focus on other strategic projects rather than infrastructure maintenance,” commented Jeff Ready, CEO and co-founder, Scale Computing. “We are proud to be the only technology company offering an edge computing trial that includes the test hardware for end users so they can see if edge computing will benefit their organization.“
The HC3 Edge series brings on-premises edge computing with HA and DR to remote locations at an affordable entry level cost. All edge models can be deployed quickly, managed locally or remotely, and firm’s patented HyperCore technology helps find and prevent infrastructure problems in real time. Applications are always available, even as hardware problems arise or updates are applied. With the HC3 Edge series, organizations can run applications and process data outside centralized data centers, at the edge of their network, closest to where that data is created and utilized.
