Panzura Partner of New Orleans Saints
To secure, move and manage data to cloud
This is a Press Release edited by StorageNewsletter.com on September 28, 2020 at 2:10 pmPanzura, Inc. and the New Orleans Saints announced a partnership that sees Panzura become the official hybrid cloud partner of the Saints.
This includes Panzura as the presenting sponsor of the Speed Leaders – the fastest Saints player from each game. The partnership, effective immediately, runs through the 2025 NFL season.
Panzura helps teams and leagues secure, move and manage their data faster and better than any other cloud solution.
From game day footage to training video, this data is among the most valuable assets teams and leagues own. However, the size and volume of these critical, confidential files makes it challenging to store them securely, while making them available in real time whenever required.
Panzura’s cloud file system makes it possible to transport petabytes of data to the cloud and move even the largest video files to where they need to be fast. The system uses military-grade encryption to keep files safe, protecting them vs. ransomware and other malware.
Panzura CEO Jill Stelfox said: “We are honored and proud to have the Saints trust us with their team data. Throughout the sports industry, keeping control of data is putting tremendous pressure on teams and leagues. Video data requires a huge amount of storage space. While the cloud has the capacity to store that data, making it available fast when it’s needed presents huge technical challenges. Panzura turns cloud storage into a globally available data center, so files can be accessed as fast as if they were still stored locally.“
Stelfox is no stranger to the NFL, having pioneered NFL next gen stats while in a previous role.
Mickey Loomis, EVP and GM, New Orleans Saints, added: “Panzura has been solving enterprise cloud data issues for nearly a dozen years and they know how to work with sports teams’ critical data. We are excited that they will be solving our cloud data issues for the next 5 years. We found the partner we’d been looking for.“
Saints director of IT operations Jody Barbier said: “Moving huge files to where they need to be is a real challenge. This year has presented the extra challenge of managing the draft remotely, while keeping our information completely secure – and the threat of ransomware is a constant concern. Panzura can move big cloud-based files faster than anyone else and their security is top notch. The way they store files means we have the ability to keep data – and keep it active and available – for as long as we need to, while knowing it’s well protected.“
The Panzura/Saints partnership debuted on September 13, as the Saints triumphed over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
