Zerto Becomes Cloud Native Computing Foundation Member
To support growth and evolution of cloud native ecosystem
This is a Press Release edited by StorageNewsletter.com on August 28, 2020 at 2:13 pmZerto Ltd has announced its membership of the Cloud Native Computing Foundation (CNCF), an organisation which builds sustainable ecosystems for cloud native software.
In becoming a Silver member, it aims to support the development and success of the cloud native industry through participation across the foundation community, events, and projects.
CNCF serves as the vendor-neutral home for many of the growing open source projects, including Kubernetes, Prometheus, and Envoy. Zerto’s first engagement with this community will be its participation in KubeCon and CloudNativeCon Europe 2020 Virtual, CNCF’s flagship conference.
The membership follows its recent announcement to extend its enterprise VM and cloud IT Resilience Platform to next gen applications. As more enterprises move to a DevOps model, the reliance on micro-services – typically running in containers – becomes a starting point. Zerto is focusing on DR and data protection for containerised applications with CDP and journaling technology.
“We are excited to join CNCF as a natural expansion of our community as we extend our enterprise VM and cloud IT Resilience Platform to next-gen applications,” said Deepak Verma, director, product strategy, Zerto. “With Kubernetes as the de facto container management platform, Zerto’s first release is a Kubernetes native service for containerised applications, whether running on-premises or in the cloud. Our membership is ideally timed to build broader relationships across the cloud-native community.“
Priyanka Sharma, GM, CNCF commented: “We’re thrilled to welcome Zerto as a CNCF member. As more organisations transition to containers and cloud native technologies, the company’s expertise in DR and data protection makes them a great addition. We look forward to the teams’ contributions across the CNCF community, events, and projects.“
