Spectrum Storage Suite improves ordering flexibility with the introduction of committed term licenses. As organizations adopt multicloud architectures for their most critical applications, an alignment of pricing and consumption models becomes of utmost importance. Committed term licenses can help manage this alignment.
A committed term license is an alternate way to license Spectrum Storage Suite. Similar to monthly licensing, a committed term license enables the purchase of licenses to the software in a cloud-centric model. This additional licensing method aligns with cloud-centered consumption models, and grants the right to use the software and receive IBM software subscription and support for the contracted committed term.
Committed term licenses are designed and priced to:
- Make it easier for organizations to acquire IBM software
- Align consumption models and spending for those clients accustomed to cloud-based solutions
- Align with the Red Hat subscription model to deliver a consistent buying experience across both product portfolios
Committed term licenses are available for new sales and enables organizations to pay for the software in advance for a minimum of 12 months. Clients must accept new Passport Advantage terms that are provided in an addendum for each and every transaction until the terms are incorporated into the published Passport Advantage agreement.
Spectrum Storage Suite 1.2.1 requires one of the following OSs:
- IBM AIX
- HP-UX
- Oracle Solaris
