This is a Press Release edited by StorageNewsletter.com on August 14, 2020 at 2:09 pmApacer Technology, Inc. launches NAS SSDs with durability and performance.
NAS SSDs for SMB and home-use NAS systems
In response to the long-distance business opportunities in the era of 5G IoT, and the trend towards storage of massive amounts of data, the company launched SSDs tailored for NAS applications. The company has been involved in the field of industrial memory for more than 20 years, focusing on the development of non-volatile flash memory and SSD applications, and providing customized industrial-grade storage and memory solutions. Considering NAS users’ storage and security requirements, the firm’s NAS SSDs combine durability, efficiency, reliability, and silent operation. They make it to upgrade from traditional HDDs or ordinary SSDs, and create security and reliability for home office or SMB NAS applications.
Durability and extended service life
Since a NAS system is expected to operate year-round, reliability is a prime concern. The company’s NAS SSDs were created to prioritize the performance of a NAS system. Large amounts of data can be read and written 24/7, and the service life is more than 3x longer than a consumer-grade SSD, meaning frequent replacements are unnecessary.
Upgrade NAS system to meet various harsh applications
Since the firm’s NAS SSDs make use of 3D NAND flash memory designed for NAS applications, the performance and response speed are improved, thereby improving productivity and working efficiency. In addition, the company’s NAS SSDs have the advantages of low latency and high-speed access (*). They can support 4K and other high-resolution image editing applications, and helping graphic designers and video editors improve storage performance.
Silent operation with low power consumption
Compared with traditional HDDs, the firm’s NAS SSDs are light, compact, and contain no moving parts. Vibration is not a problem, power consumption is low and operation is silent. Existing NAS systems can be upgraded by NAS SSDs 2.5-inch and M.2 2280 (6Gb SATA and PCIe) form factors. Capacities range from 128GB up to 1TB, with more options coming.
Compatible with leading branded NAS systems
The company’s NAS SSDs have been tested to run inside NAS systems made by manufacturers such as Qnap Systems, Inc. and Asustor Inc.. They are for SMB and home-use NAS systems (**).
(*) The access speed of NAS SSD is 20-40 timesx that of traditional HDDs.
(**) Confirm that the SSD and NAS are compatible before purchasing.
