By Jean Jacques Maleval | August 12, 2020 at 2:22 pmEver since it quit manufacturing HDDs in 1991, Rodime plc of Scotland has no other activity than trying to get money from its 3.5-inch technology patents.
The Scottish firm won suits or received royalties from Alps, Conner, Fujitsu, IBM, Maxtor/Miniscribe, Hitachi, Matsushita, and this year negotiated licenses with Hewlett-Packard, Fuji Electric, JVC, Myrica Technology in Singapore, Nippon Electric Co., Teac, Toshiba, VE Data and Vita Enterprises.
Last November, Rodime suited Seagate Technology, still for the same reasons.
