UltraBac V10.3.0 Available as Annual Subscription

Thru Azure marketplace

UltraBac Software, Inc. announces that its v10.3.0 is available as an annual subscription thru the Azure Marketplace.

It provides 3 levels of DR protection in a one backup/replication pass to insulate an organization with on-premise Windows servers vs. any kind of event negatively impacting computer operations.

Physical Windows servers protected by UltraBac can recover from disaster by:

  • Image Backup: The firm offers the option to restore a point-in-time image backup to a failed on-prem server using WinPE to the same or different hardware. Restore using Express Mode in a few clicks to the same hardware. Restore using advanced mode to different hardware, or to increase/decrease partition sizes, or to perform other admin functions. Recovering a failed server using image technology can take 15-20 minutes.
  • Virtual Replication with near instant failover to Hyper-V. The company provides the option to create a VHDX file on a Hyper-V host and keep it up-to-date with every replication so that a failover can be affected by an administrator powering on a VM. Failing over to run as a VM can take as little as one minute.
  • Cloud Replication with near instant failover to Azure. The vendor provides the option to create a bootable disk in Azure Storage with unlimited point-in-time updates. Using its Cloud Manager App, an admin can test the status of a replicated server by selecting a point-in-time to launch a VM in Sandbox Mode for testing or DR mode for a permanent failover/migration operation. Once a server and its point-in-time have been selected, UltraBac creates a VM, attaches the bootable disk, and begins running in 1-3 minutes.

Failed backup/replications are self-healing as of the next successful operation so no changed block data is lost between backup/replications or a full restart required.

CEO and founder Morgan Edwards says: “Providing three levels of backup and DR protection in a one-pass operation is unique to UltraBac Software and adds another market 1st to the company’s long list since our BDR solution was released for Windows NT in 1995.

With UltraBac’s Azure Marketplace subscription customers can use any combination of these three DR protection options that meets their individual BC requirements.
