1Q20 Revenue of Scale Computing Grew 30% Y/Y
In spite of Covid-19
This is a Press Release edited by StorageNewsletter.com on April 8, 2020 at 2:13 pmScale Computing, Inc. achieved record revenue in 1Q20 driven by the manufacturing, healthcare and grocery verticals.
There was also continued growth from local government and education customers who have seen IT demands skyrocket due to the coronavirus pandemic that has led to work-from-home/teach-from-home requirements.
Bookings grew for 1Q20 in a Y/Y comparison.
In the challenging environment of Covid-19, the company turned its focus to ensuring customers’ infrastructure held firm as workers around the world moved to new remote conditions.
“1Q20 was a challenging quarter for everyone, but more than ever customers see the need to do more with less due to tighter budgets as a response to the economic slowdown, resulting from global shelter-in-place orders. Scale Computing’s self-healing, autonomous application infrastructure is playing a key role as customers adapt to the new normal. Ease of use, remote management and TCO matter more now than ever,” said Jeff Ready, CEO and co-founder.
In March, the firm pivoted to assist customers with urgent needs to enable their employees to work remotely, leveraging technology with partner Leostream Corp. Customers have shown interest in both the short-term solution, as well as investing in a broader VDI solution once immediate IT needs are met.
“The greatest feeling in my job was to tell my management at the hospital that we were ready for remote work from day one thanks to the hyperconverged VDI system from Scale Computing and Leostream. I had a user come back to me overjoyed about being able to see her same desktop from home that she sees at work. For a small hospital this has been a game changer over the last few weeks. Thanks again to the wonderful people at Scale Computing and Leostream for all the great teamwork,” said Ernest Wallace, computer technician, Horizon Health Network.
“Thousands of customers like Horizon Health were planning ahead when they adopted HC3, knowing that new technologies, like Scale Computing’s self-healing platform, would dramatically lower costs. It is through customer successes like this that Scale Computing was selected as both the #1 virtualisation and the #1 hyper-converged solution by CRN‘s reseller community at the end of 2019. As our customers face the current crisis, they have the latest technology at their backs, enabling them to focus on the needs of their users while the infrastructure takes care of itself at a fraction of the previous cost,” said Ready. “We feel that the fundamentals of our business are strong and that we are well positioned to help organisations get through this current crisis. Our technology solves a need for customers – it strengthens and simplifies their IT infrastructure – which is something customers need even during these difficult times and will continue to need when the economy recovers.“
