The host card comes in both external HD MiniSAS (SFF-8644) or SlimSAS (SFF-8654) configurations. This gen of host cards supports hot-plug and hot-add devices as well as Dynamic Port Resolution (DPR), eliminating the need to reconfigure the host to accommodate 1×16, 2×8, 4×4 or 8×2 configurations.
