Dan Newton CEO, Computer Data Source

Joining from HiveIO, Datapipe (Rackspace), Dell, Perot Systems

Newton Computer Data SourceCDS (Computer Data Source), provider of data center third-party maintenance (TPM) and high-end storage for enterprises, named IT industry executive Dan Newton as CEO.

 

 

With over 15 years of managed services and enterprise technology experience, he has delivered IT solutions to some recognized brands in the world.

He will focus on growing and diversifying CDS’ service offerings and customer base and fostering best-in-breed partnerships. His appointment follows New State Capital Partners LLC acquiring a majority stake in CDS this past August.

There is a tremendous amount of growth opportunity in the third-party maintenance services market as IT lifecycle management becomes a top-line priority for businesses,” said Steve Larned, senior principal, New State Capital Partners. “Dan’s experience working with SMB’s to Fortune 100 businesses and his understanding of the entire data center ecosystem – from servers to storage, networking, and software and cloud strategies – directly answers the needs of our customers. His experience and leadership will help guide CDS into its next phase of delivering solutions that help enterprises optimize their infrastructure and get the most value out of their data center.

Newton joins CDS from HiveIO, a developer of intelligent virtualization technology, where he served as CEO. Prior that, he was COO for the managed services company Datapipe, supporting customers in over 20 data centers and across private and public cloud solutions. Datapipe was acquired by Rackspace, where he served as GM and SVP of service delivery. he has also held leadership roles with Dell and Perot Systems.
