PNY Opens Technological Centre in Dubai, UAE
To support development of AI, HPC and VDI solutions
This is a Press Release edited by StorageNewsletter.com on November 21, 2019 at 2:26 pmPNY Technologies, Inc. opened a technological centre in Dubai, UAE.
It allows customers to stress-test their AI, HPC and VDI solutions and validate PoCs. By positioning company’s second centre in Dubai – the first one is based in the company’s HQs in Bordeaux, France and offers a similar test environment – the firm demonstrates their commitment to increase investments in the region.
The center will give companies remote access to preconfigured AI, VDI and HPC environments that make it easier to run tests and review new solutions in a developed infrastructure.
The centre hosts four labs:
- The AI Deep Learning Lab hosts NVIDIA’s DGX-2 HPC, a 2 petaFLOPS system that combines 16 interconnected GPUs for tspeed and scale from NVIDIA. Powered by NVIDIA DGX software and the scalable architecture of NVIDIA NVSwitch, DGX-2 can handle the complex AI challenges. It also provides on-site access to DGX-1, DGX station and POD architecture (A3I/ AIRI), a reference architecture that incorporates best practices for computing, networking, storage, power, cooling, and more, in an integrated AI infrastructure design built on NVIDIA DGX.
- The AI Inferencing Lab includes the PNY Server for Inferencing with TESLA T4 GPU, an advanced inference accelerator powered by NVIDIA Turing Tensor Cores. It also provides access to PNY’s Jetson TX2 Developer Kit, a developer kit that exposes the hardware capabilities and interfaces of the developer board.
- The VDI lab offers customers access to 3 different areas of solutions/ applications: the PNY server with TESLA P40 / V100, an advanced datacenter GPU; GRID vDWS licensing and AEC, M&E and CAD applications.
- The HPC Lab hosts the PNY NVLink server with TESLA V100 SXM2, designed for delivering performance in HPC, AI and scientific applications.
PNY’s compute and storage solutions support hundreds of start-ups and other companies that have embarked on their AI journey. Having increased their footprint in the AI industry in recent years, the firm is keen to assist these growing companies in developing their frameworks and validated, integrated and optimized solutions. It selected Dubai as the location for its second lab as AI is booming in the Middle East and the new centre will allow the team to work closely with local customers.
Jérôme Bélan, CEO, PNY EMEA, commented: “The PNY Technological Centre supports the full range of hardware and software solutions that PNY and NVIDIA have to offer, targeting any AI maturity level. The Middle East is an important growth region for us, hence our decision to complement our European Centre in Bordeaux with a testing room n-site in Dubai. We can demonstrate the power of NVIDIA systems by allowing customers to train their models on our system, whilst having them experience the benefits of deploying an external storage unit that provides efficient parallel file access to constantly feed GPU computing tasks.“
Carlo Ruiz, head of AI data center solutions EMEA, NVIDIA said: “It’s great to see the PNY Technological Center launched in Dubai. Powered by one of the most advanced infrastructures in the world, NVIDIA’s DGX-2, this lab will fuel AI adoption by researchers and developers in the Middle East.“
