History (1990): StorageTek Expands OEM Pact With EMC to Resell Mainframe Memory Boards for IBM 3090 and 3080-Class Machines

Storage Technology Corp. (Louisville, CO) is expanding its OEM pact to own the exclusive rights to resell EMC Corp’s mainframe memory boards for IBM 3090 and 3080-class machines in a deal evaluated at $100 million over the next three years.

This agreement expands the relationship between the two partners. Since last year, StorageTek has been marketing the 4080, a solid-state drive manufactured by EMC (Hopkinton, MA).
