Infortrend EonStor CS 3000 and 4000 NAS From Starline Computer
Storage cluster via scale-up and scale-out NAS supports double-digit gigabit performance and more than 100PB capacity.
This is a Press Release edited by StorageNewsletter.com on October 17, 2019 at 2:23 pmThe CS family from Starline Computer GmbH partner Infortrend Technology, Inc. will inspire administrators: The flexible expansion does not only increase capacity, but also its performance linearly.
EonStor CS 3000 and CS 4000 NAS available with either 16 or 24 drive bays
Infortrend launches EonStor CS scale-out NAS systems which supports double-digit gigabit performance and more than 100PB storage capacity. This product line is an addition to the company’s offerings and serve HPC and M&Et industries, which consume higher bandwidth and storage space. The scalability allows EonStor CS to keep up as the business grows, making it an optimized storage and management solution for enterprises.
Extension can take place in two directions:
Vertically via scale-up by expanding drive inventory
or horizontally via scale-out by adding further nodes.
According to Data Age 2025 survey, the data volume will come to 175ZB by 2025, almost 4.5 times from 2019. Innovations, such as 4K/8K video, data centers, and IoT are the driving force for the growing data. How to manage the sheer data volume and to get insights out of the data has become a major issue.
With EonStor CS scale-out NAS, users could choose vertical scalability by storage capacity by adding up to 76 disks, or choose horizontal scalability by connecting up to 144 nodes (CS units). The performance and capacity allow enterprises handle data-intensive applications, and to be future-proof for data growth. Therefore, CS is for demanding applications, such as real-time data analytics, astronomical survey, large-scale video production companies, or video surveillance.
In addition to performance and scalability, EonStor CS features data protection and data security. To prevent data loss, CS supports from disk to cluster protection mechanism. If any of the elements fails, the data will not be lost and the system performance will not be affected. This line supports SED and WORM to prevent data tampering.
As for system management, CS comes with a web-based centralized management software EonOne, which allows users to monitor and manage the entire cluster via GUI anytime, anywhere. The modular design and redundant key components also allow CS to be maintained and replaced without interrupting system operation.
“Towards the new data era, the industry is now either installing a new storage system or upgrading the existing ones. During the shift, customers meet challenges like performance and capacity requirements, system incompatibility, time-consuming data migration, or even downtime. The introduction of EonStor CS makes it easier to manage the high data volumes, the IT spending, and gain advantages of innovative applications,” said Thomas Kao, senior director, product planning.
