Enhances performance and management functions that improve usability of EonStor GS family.
This is a Press Release edited by StorageNewsletter.com on February 22, 2019 at 2:17 pmInfortrend Technology, Inc. announces the availability of the updated EonOne management software along with the firmware 1.38 release.
This update includes features that enhances the performance as well as management functions that improve the overall usability of the EonStor GS family.
Users have an option to prioritize the file or the block performance within the company’s storage. This particular feature allows the underlying storage resources to be fully utilized while accelerating the prioritized block or file applications.
Another enhancement is the integration of the Docker platform with GUI. Docker is a popular tool that packages an application and its dependencies in a virtual container. This integration allows EonOne to run the Docker applications in independent containers without invoking complicated command lines. Furthermore, it allows the creation of a turnkey appliance targeting applications such as backup, surveillance, and more.
In terms of manageability, a data log feature is added to monitor the file access. For example, the IT administrator can track when a user accessed a particular file for read or write access. This allows the identification of the root cause of potential IT problems faster.
In addition, if files are accidentally deleted in day-to-day operation, it takes a long time to recover. EonOne has a Recycle Bin feature similar to desktop OS such as Windows, making it to restore deleted files. An IT manager can also customize the frequency and schedule to empty the recycle bin.
“To better support our customers, we are constantly looking for ways to improve the usability of Infortrend storage with new software features. The latest EonOne and firmware 1.38 release shows our commitment for the continuous product improvement,” said Thomas Kao, senior director, product planning.
