OakGate Technology: DE200 Expandable Desktop SSD Test and Validation Platform Appliance

OakGate Technology, Inc. announced its DE200 expandable desktop appliance.

The expandable desktop appliance provides airflow improvements and mechanical and thermal design enhancements. It also features an adjustable fan speed knob for quieter operation.

The PCIe Gen3 slots are accessed through a separate top door so that the PCIe add-in cards (AICs) can be swapped easily and quickly. The fan speed knob and indicator on the front panel empowers the user to optimize the fan speed (and noise) based on the number of AICs and their usage. Additionally, the rugged design of this 4U appliance provides a secure test foundation that can be utilized on a desktop or installed in a standard data center rack.

M-Series

The DE200 provides expansion possibilities in a desktop form factor. It includes four backplane PCIe Gen3 slots for testing AICs or connecting to a variety of external enclosures. With the company’s optional M-Series 4-Bay ‘U.2 Plug-In Module’, it can test up to four U.2 multi-protocol SSDs with integrated power management. The firm plans to provide solutions supporting power margining capabilities for the DE200 in the near future.

The DE200 also incorporates Storage Validation Framework (SVF) Pro, the company’s fourth generation test suite featuring Enduro, the controller application with a drag and drop windowing system and a multitasking environment that allows users to simultaneously open multiple instances of each tool. SVF Pro offers a set of features and capabilities that are based on the firm’s experience in working with a range of customers and understanding their requirements.
