SAN768C-6 is a high port-density SAN director with 768 line rate 32Gb FC ports. It is designed for deployment in midsize to large enterprises. It will enable SAN consolidation and collapsed core for large enterprise customers, reducing the number of managed switches and the number of front panel ports burnt on Inter-Switch Links (ISLs) to offer room for future growth.
SAN768C-6 addresses the requirements of large virtualized data center storage requirements. As a director-class SAN switch, it uses the same OS and management interface as other IBM Storage Networking c-type data center switches and brings intelligent capabilities to a high-performance, protocol-independent switch fabric. You will gain availability, security, and scalability, with simplified management and the capability to flexibly integrate new technologies. SAN768C-6 enables to transparently deploy unified fabrics with FC connectivity for low TCO.
Key prerequisites: SAN768C-6 supports FC connectivity. Model 8978-E16 supports all features and functions listed, and requires NX-OS software release 8.3(2), or later.
