Digital Tape Format (DTF) L size (1994-2004)
Digital Tape Format (DTF) is a magnetic tape cassette format for data storage, introduced by Sony in 1994.
Two sizes were available, both using half-inch tape.
The L (large) size was based on the larger Betacam cassette form factor, and was initially able to hold 60GB.
A second generation, DTF2, was introduced in 1999, and was able to hold 200GB.
DTF was given end of life status in 2004, with support until 2011.
