OwnBackup ICE, powered by Blockchain:
In a first for Salesforce backups, the company also announced the addition of OwnBackup ICE, powered by Blockchain, to the company’s application. Based on use of Blockchain technology to backups, the firm provides Salesforce users, including those in highly-regulated industries, the ability to prove that their backups were not tampered with or changed. This solution provides a platform for producing immutable backup evidence for companies subject to regulations, such as SEC Rule 17a-4, GDPR, HIPAA, and others.
“OwnBackup is pioneering the data protection and compliance space. Simply having backups in place may not suffice for auditors in financial services, healthcare, and other highly-regulated industries. If your company cannot prove that your data has not been changed, you should question the integrity of your backup strategy altogether,” said Sam Gutmann, CEO, OwnBackup.
Furthermore he states, “Enterprises are increasingly navigating evolving regulatory requirements in addition to minimizing impacts from user-inflicted data loss and corruption. We offer peace of mind to our customers with more frequent backups and faster recovery of data. Now, OwnBackup Archiver and our Fall ’18 release demonstrate our continued expansion as a robust data protection, regulatory compliance, and security platform, going above simple backup and recovery“.
