FMS: Maxio Technology Demonstrated MAS090X Series SSD Controllers

Maxio Technology demonstrated a storage control technology, IC controllers and solutions at the FMS 2018.

The company brought the MAS090X series SSD controllers to live demo the stability, reliability and security of the controller advantages.

It supports current all of mass production 3D NAND (Toshiba/SanDisk BICS2/BICS3, Micron/Intel L06B/B0KB/B16/B17/N18/B27, SK Hynix 3D V3/V4, etc.). In addition, it have been applied in the scales of the consumer, industry and server, and have been recognized by well-known customers in the industry, becoming reliable SSD controllers with outstanding performance in the storage industry.

China’s first domestic commercial SSD solution support TCG OPAL2.0 security protocol
On the first day of the FMS, the company released China’s first commercial SSD and solution supporting the TCG OPAL 2.0 security protocol. The solution supports the international secure cryptographic algorithm (AES256/SHA256/RSA2048), the China domestic secure cryptographic algorithm (SM2/SM3/SM4) and the TCG OPAL 2.0 security protocol. The secure SSD solution can realize the signature verification function of the firmware, prevent the firmware from being maliciously modified, realize the remote security SSD firmware upgrade, support the high-speed data encryption and decryption function and the speed exceeds 500MB/s. It meets the needs of large-scale commercial applications in the industry, supports security functions such as key security partitioning, key security update, key security storage, key security destruction, and data hiding.

The company also unveiled several industry-class SSD and solutions. The solution uses the MAS0901, which is equipped with the 64-layer 3D NAND flash (Toshiba BICS3 ETLC and Micron/Intel B17 NAND flash), its performance and stability have reached the international industry-class SSD level, and can be used especially in data center, server, financial system., ensuring the security and control of storage and application.

The MAS090X series IC controllers have fully supported all of 3D NAND flash such as Micron, Intel, Toshiba, Hynix, SanDisk and the latest QLC NAND flash, which have become the controllers supporting most NAND flash on the world. And the related technology has been applied for invention patents. In addition, during the summit, the company also demonstrated the MAS0902 SSD DRAMLESS series solution, the solution can use the same controller to support 32GB to 4TB of different capacity and different sizes of SSD without DRAM or changing the PCB. At the same time, Dr. Xu Wei, VP, Maxio Technology, was invited by the FMS committee to share the core technology and latest development of Adaptive NAND Flash DSP in the Flash Controller Design Options Forum.
