Improves NAND supply chain flexibility by leveraging standard SSD modules, while maximizing cost savings with dual ported capability.
This is a Press Release edited by StorageNewsletter.com on September 6, 2018 at 2:13 pmLiqid, Inc. is working with Marvell Technology Group Ltd. to deliver high capacity, performance solid-state NVMe solutions based on Marvell’s 88NR2241 intelligent NVMe switch.
These NVMe products will be released under the company’s Element SSD brand and built leveraging Marvell’s NVMe chipset solutions technology. The 88NR2241-enabled products from the firm are designed to provide the data center with enterprise storage performance and reliability necessary to bridge the gap between traditional workloads, such as databases and virtualization, to next-generation workflows, including AI, machine learning, VR/AR, and other emerging applications.
“By combining Liqid’s expertise in PCIe fabrics with Marvell’s intelligent NVMe switch, the new Element NVMe offerings bring an innovative solid-state solution that are designed to achieve exceptional levels of QoS with low latency and high data throughput exceeding critical cloud and enterprise data center requirements,” said Nigel Alvares, VP, SSD and data center storage solutions, Marvell. “With consistently high IO/s for demanding workloads, dual-port capability for multi-host access, and power loss protection for maximum data reliability, the Liqid and Marvell collaboration sets a new performance and reliability standard targeting high-performance applications across multiple high-growth market verticals.“
With multiple patents issued and pending, the Element NVMe Design powered by the Marvell NVMe switch offers among an industry substantial ROI, with solid-state performance and features at a lower cost per gigabyte compared to solutions based on previous specifications. The collaborative effort between the two companies also improves NAND supply chain flexibility by leveraging standard SSD modules, while also maximizing cost savings with its Dual Ported capability.
“The 88NR2241 switch is designed to enable one of the highest performance and widest feature sets available in the market today, and we are excited to work closely with Marvell to introduce industry-leading, solid-state NVMe solutions characterized by unprecedented agility, flexibility, and multi-dimensional value,” said Sumit Puri, CEO and co-founder, Liqid. “Traditional, high-performance workloads are giving way to data-hungry artificial intelligence, machine learning, virtual reality, and other high value applications driving economic development through the next decade. Liqid Element NVMe solutions deliver end-to-end data agility for the most demanding workflows of today and the future, while setting a new value standard for TCO.“
