NAB: Promise Unveils Atlas Series NAS and SANLink3 N1 Thunderbolt3 to NBASE-T Ethernet Adapter

Promise Technology Inc. launched its Atlas series of NAS shared storage solutions, and its SANLink3 N1, a Thunderbolt3 to NBASE-T Ethernet adapter.

Both products deliver the combination of performance and affordability that creative professionals in small workgroups need.

At the NAB show, the company announced that it is one of the first-to-market with 14TB HDDs from Toshiba Electronic Devices and Storage Corporation, across all of its product lines.

The Atlas series features fast NAS connectivity over Thunderbolt3 and 10G Ethernet, with capacities and value. The Atlas S8+, an 8-bay desktop and Atlas S12+, a 12-bay rackmount unit, include enterprise features with a simple-to-use GUI making them for the burgeoning small-workgroup shared storage market.

SANLink3 N1

The SANLink3 N1 is for creative professionals to connect Thunderbolt 3 devices to an existing Ethernet infrastructure. The fast NBASE-T technology maximizes the available line rate of Thunderbolt 3 to provide portable and desktop systems with fast Ethernet connectivity at 1, 2.5, 5 and up to 10Gb/s speeds that streamlines creative and high demand workflows with plug and play ease. The bus-powered, pocket-sized, whisper quiet and lightweight SANLink3 N1 with no power adapters or big bulky boxes and a plug and pay approach makes it easy to transport and use.

The company recently announced Build to Order (BTO) platform that enables users to custom-configure the Pegasus3 series of desktop RAID storage solutions. Creative professionals seeking speed, redundancy and higher capacities can use the BTO options – found at the firm’s eStore – to create the exact combination of SSD and HDD drives they need for their individual workflows.

At NAB show, the company demonstrated a high-end ScaleOut NAS solution for the media and entertainment market that leverages StoneFly software.

The SANLink3 N1 will be available in May. The Atlas S8+ will be expecting to start shipping in May in the US.

Custom Pegasus3 solutions are available in North America only, and pricing varies based on options selected, with custom-configured Pegasus3 models.
