NAB: Caringo Certified With Pixit Media
To broaden storage choices for media and entertainment IT professionals
This is a Press Release edited by StorageNewsletter.com on April 5, 2018 at 2:15 pmCaringo, Inc., announced a technology partnership with Pixit Media Ltd, certifying Caringo Swarm with the Pixit Media suite.
The combined software-defined approach pairs Pixit Media’s PixStor and PixStor Ngenea HSM solutions with the Swarm scale-out object storage platform-delivering performance, protection and access for every stage of the content workflow from creation to delivery and archive.
Caringo solves the issues associated with storing and protecting growing digital assets while keeping them online and accessible. With Swarm, you get many of the benefits of the cloud in your own data center, including limitless scale; instant access over HTTP, S3 and NFS for traditional in-network access; and direct-to-consumer streaming. All with built-in data protection and an architecture that protects from hacks and ransomware.
“Every M&E organization we talk to from production houses to networks and studios are struggling to provide high-performance, high-capacity storage infrastructure to keep pace with market demands,” said Tony Barbagallo, Caringo VP of product. “Certification of Swarm with Pixit means that our object storage software-refined and hardened over the last decade-can be combined with Pixit’s entire product suite, leveraging a complete software-defined approach that can be tuned to any M&E workflow.“
PixStor is a highly scalable, enterprise storage solution specifically designed for M&E workflows. Data moves through many tiers of storage-from fast flash to cost-effective, high-capacity object storage. It provides the performance needed for combined VFX, finishing and rendering workloads to run at maximum speed, while Pixstor Ngenea HSM tiers data to Swarm for nearline/backup and active archive.
“Pixit Media’s strategic partnership with Caringo is a critical extension to our multi-tier end-to-end storage workflow,” said Ben Leaver, MD, Pixit Media. “Our customers can now take advantage of Caringo’s long proven object storage solutions designed to maximize scalability, reliability and security.“
The combined solution is deployed on software-defined, open-standard hardware with no vendor lock-in, providing media organizations an economic advantage and more purchasing power, now and in the future.
Caringo will be at NAB Las Vegas, NV, April 9-12, 2018.
