By Jean Jacques Maleval | December 8, 2017 at 2:19 pmCampaign Storage LLC closed its web site and doors.
The start-up was founded in March 2016 by storage veterans CEO Peter Braam, well-known in the HPC community for his early work with Lustre, and Nathan C. Thompson current CEO and chairman of tape storage firm Spectra Logic, a company he founded in October 1979 at the age of 19.
The company was involved in software-defined storage to manage tiers of storage (HSM software), developed at Los Alamos National Laboratory from 2014 under the name of MarFS.
In an interview published by insideHPC, Braam said: “There are opportunities abound, probably most will be related to cloud and solid state storage. Software-defined storage – in which I’m a great believer – has a real opportunity to blossom.”
