Datera Signed Customer Agreement With Steadfast

IT infrastructure solutions company also considered NetApp Solidfire, HPE 3PAR and Nimble Storage, Pure Storage and Infinidat.

Datera Inc. signed a customer agreement with Steadfast Networks LLC, an IT infrastructure solutions company.

Steadfast uses Datera Elastic Data Fabric (EDF) to create a range of storage service levels that are individually tailored to each of their customer applications, by converging mixed servers and storage media into a unified data management platform. As a result, Datera gives Steadfast a TCO advantage, combined with performance, scalability and carrier-grade reliability.

Headquartered in Chicago, IL, Steadfast was founded in 1998 by then 14-year old CEO Karl Zimmerman. The company has since evolved from a passion project to a multi-million dollar IT services company, providing customers with quality, reliable managed services. It delivers IT infrastructure solutions to businesses across all phases of IT, including consultation for planning, design and implementation, as well as 24/7 support from on-site engineers that manage the service.

The company has three data centers in Illinois and New Jersey.

Steadfast had been searching for a storage solution that could satisfy their diverse customer requirements and grow with their business. Historically, the company had encountered numerous storage challenges, resulting in storage silos for archival, production and enterprise performance.

Its IT organization was looking to consolidate those sprawling storage silos into one single, scalable data management platform. After considering more than a dozen potential solutions from established storage vendors, including NetApp Solidfire, HPE 3PAR, Pure Storage, Inc., Nimble Storage, Inc. and Infinidat Ltd, that were traditional single point solutions, not automated, or cost-prohibitive, Steadfast chose EDF because of its operational efficiency, price, performance flexibility, and scalability. EDF uses application-policy to decouple storage provisioning from physical infrastructure management, and dynamically tailors storage from commodity x86 servers to each individual application.

Steadfast is at a point in our evolution where we we’re looking to scale, helping our customers to do the same,” said Karl Zimmerman, CEO, Steadfast. “In fact, most IT teams spend 80% of their time monitoring and managing existing infrastructure. We want to give these teams their time back to really focus on what matters to improve their businesses. By working with Datera, we provide our customers with reliable infrastructure at a fraction of the cost. In fact, we’ve found Datera’s solutions to be simple and easy to manage, with deployment proving to take minutes versus weeks or months with other alternatives.

EDF provides an unified automatic data management platform for a range of business sizes and demands. It combines cloud-like operational simplicity, agility and economics with enterprise performance, and can automatically meet a spectrum of customer requirements.

Organizations are looking to increase the operational efficiency of their IT environment, creating agile infrastructure that can dynamically respond to new business demands while reducing costs,” said Flavio Santoni, chief revenue officer, Datera. “Datera EDF has been architected to drive a true paradigm shift that will forever simplify storage management and redefine the economics of storage.
