UK TV Channel S4C Implements Object Matrix Storage Solutions
With MatrixStore, alongside 60TB of secure object storage
This is a Press Release edited by StorageNewsletter.com on June 12, 2017 at 2:15 pmObject Matrix Ltd announced that its digital content governance platform has been implemented by the fourth-oldest television channel in the UK, S4C International Limited.
S4C, a television channel to be aimed specifically at a Welsh-speaking audience, has implemented the digital content governance platform, MatrixStore, alongside 60TB of secure object storage.
As part of the deployment, S4C will also gain access to Object Matrix’s MXFS client application, ensuring content is being ingested as a like-for-like copy, as well as Vision, a browser-based content search and collaboration tool.
“The deployment of Object Matrix’s solutions is primarily aimed at improving the efficiency of the team responsible for the creation of promotional trailers for transmission,” commented Steve Cowin, CTO, S4C. “MatrixStore will enable that team to easily archive content whilst also providing immediate access at a later date. As a result, content is reusable and the search process less labour-intensive, meaning our team can spend more time working creatively to the best of their abilities.“
MatrixStore will also integrate with S4C’s existing workflow, in order for editing teams to deliver archived content from storage into the editing suite.
“S4C is a much-needed resource in Wales and the UK, bringing Welsh-language programming to the many Welsh-speaking inhabitants,” added Nick Pearce, co-founder, Object Matrix. “Being able to securely store media, whilst at the same time finding the right piece of content instantly, was crucial for the team tasked with the creation of trailers around that same content. MatrixStore enables S4C to truly maximise the value of its growing archive.“
