CeBIT: Inspur Launches Open19 Rack Products for Cloud Data Centers

Open19 is a initiative that aims to build a standard that works in any EIA 19-inch rack, in order to allow many more suppliers to produce servers that that will interoperate and will be interchangeable in any rack environment. The goals of Open9 are to provide lower cost per rack, lower cost per server, optimized power utilization, and an open standard that everyone can contribute to and participate in.
As member of Open19, the company is bringing to the Open19 community its design and manufacturing of open hardware experience in connection with all open hardware standards. The firm has a long history of designing open hardware. For instance,the firm is a key participant in the ODCC Scorio Project since its inception in 2010 working with the BAT companies (Baidu, Alibaba, Tencent) and is currently the solution provider for ODCC/Scorpio racks for hyperscale deployments. The company is committed to bringing innovations in data center hardware design and manufacturing in support of the Open19 initiative to fuel the adoption of open hardware.
Open19 Bricks
Each one Rack Unit (RU) can accommodate two Bricks or one double Brick. A double high Brick takes up 2RU space. firm’s first generation bricks includes:

As a total solutions provider, the company will also offer its own Open19 compliant rack system that includes Open19 Brick cages, 12V power shelves with optional BBU, and accessories, providing customers with fully integrated rack level Open19 platforms that are ready to roll into any data center and go.
