Drive Duplicator and Eraser by StarTech

$797, for USB flash drives and 2.5/3.5-inch SATA drives

StarTech.com has released a drive duplicator and eraser for USB flash drives and 2.5/3.5″ SATA drives (SKU: SU2DUPERA11), which features a cross-interface duplication from USB to SATA and SATA to USB.

The product has multiple duplication and erase modes and enables users to erase a single SATA or USB drive or two drives simultaneously.

It helps users manage data by enabling them to copy, compare, and verify data directly from a 2.5″/3.5″ SATA or USB drive without connecting to a computer. There are four duplication modes to choose from, including: Quick Copy, All Partitions, Sector-by-Sector (whole drive) and Percentage Copy. The six erase modes are: Quick Erase, Single Pass Overwrite (full erase), Three-Pass Overwrite (DoD), Three-Pass Overwrite and Compare, Secure Erase and Seven-Pass Overwrite.

IT professionals such as system administrators and computer technicians will find the simplicity and standalone operation of the drive duplicator and eraser perfect for securely managing an organisation’s data. The different options for duplicating and erasing data ensures that sensitive data is properly managed and helps eliminate the risk of privacy breaches.

Benefits and features of drive duplicator and eraser:

  • 1:1 duplication (SATA-to-SATA or USB-to-USB)

  • Modes meet DoD (5220.22-M) standards and meets the criteria set forth in NIST 800-88

  • Verification operations for duplication and erase tasks

  • Standalone operation

  • Digital LCD for easy operation and verification purposes

  • Compact design

This device provides a versatile solution for IT professionals to clone data between both SATA and USB-based storage drives,” said Scott Burton, product manager, StarTech.com.
