Toshiba N300 6TB 3.5-Inch HDDs For NAS

£315

Toshiba Electronics Europe (TEE) personal storage division has launched a series of 3.5-inch internal NAS HDDs for personal, home office and small business use.

TOSHIBA_1_N300
The HDD N300 series of consumer drives is optimized for the performance, reliability, endurance and scalability requirements of 24-hourx7-day operation high-capacity storage.

The N300 series is designed for NAS environments where large volumes of data need to be reliably stored and accessed day-in, day-out. Support for up to eight drive bays in multi-RAID NAS designs means that a user’s NAS configuration can grow in line with their evolving storage needs.

Drives in the N300 series are offered with capacity options of 4TB [1] and 6TB and all feature a 128MB data buffer. Company’s Dynamic Cache Technology – a self-contained cache algorithm with on-board buffer management – optimizes cache allocation during R/W to provide the performance demanded by real-time domains.

TOSHIBA_si-N300-feature-1
The N300 series employs technologies that maximize reliability. These include control and sensing technology to mitigate the effect of vibration, shock and heat and prevent downtime. For example, multiple shock sensors detect and compensate for shock and rotational vibration, while error recovery control minimizes recovery time from data errors. Thanks to the firm’s Stable Platter technology, a tied spindle motor stabilizes the motor drive shaft at both ends to curb system-induced vibration. Use of high-endurance components ensures durability in harsh environments and reliability is further supported through the company’s Ramp Load technology that reduces disk head wear and tear.

The HDD N300 will be available from January 2017 and are supplied with a three-year warranty. Typical purchase prices (TPP) are expected to be as follows:

Quick Start Guide

[1] One Gigabyte (1GB) means 109 = 1,000,000,000 bytes and One Terabyte (1TB) means 1012 = 1,000,000,000,000 bytes using powers of 10. A computer OS, however, reports storage capacity using powers of two for the definition of 1GB= 230 = 1,073,741,824 bytes and 1TB = 240 = 1,099,511,627,776 bytes, and therefore shows less storage capacity. Available storage capacity (including examples of various media files) will vary based on file size, formatting, settings, software and OS and other factors.
[2]  As for ‘Drive Bays Supported’, contact your Solutions Provider because the compatibility with the host device will vary based on the system.
[3] Read and write speed may vary depending on the host device, read and write conditions, and file size.
[4] Location of bottom mounting hole may differ depending on the product. For more information.
