Intermedia Adds File Backup, Archiving to Dedicated Exchange Email Solution on AWS

Including proprietary 2-in-1 file backup and sharing solution SecuriSync

Following the availability launch of Dedicated Exchange on AWS, Intermedia.net, Inc. is announcing the availability of additional services for Amazon Web Services (AWS) customers, including its proprietary 2-in-1 file backup and sharing solution SecuriSync, as well as Skype for Business and SharePoint.

The first live demonstrations of the expanded unified solution will be offered at the AWS Santa Clara Summit in Silicon Valley.

In addition to the above business applications, this integrated solution features business email that’s managed by company’s Exchange experts, built on a single-tenant cloud powered by AWS. On the AWS customer’s behalf, firm’s experts deploy a dedicated environment using its proprietary architecture and customized monitoring capabilities, while leveraging AWS. Further, clients gain the operational support, compliance capabilities, reliability and advanced cloud security, at predictable per-user pricing. These services are integrated with company’s HostPilot Control Panel, making it easy for customers to incorporate email add-ons such as archiving and encryption. As a result, enterprises get the best of both worlds – the control and flexibility of a dedicated on-premises environment, with the economics, security expertise and scalability of the cloud.

In a recent Researchscape International survey of 300 IT managers [1], when asked about the level of interest in moving their email to a dedicated cloud, an overwhelming 90% of respondents without email in the cloud today expressed interest in moving their email service to a single-tenant cloud managed by a third-party expert. While the majority of IT managers (59%) were completely or very confident in their company’s ability to manage its own Exchange email on AWS, 80% of these IT managers still would prefer to work with a third-party expert.

Bob Leibholz, SVP, business development, Intermedia, stated: “Independent research confirms that AWS enterprise customers want a managed Exchange email solution when moving their business email to the cloud. Both AWS customers and sales professionals have confirmed this, communicating a desire to transition other essential business applications as part of the same effort. As a direct response to this interest, we’re pleased to extend the one-stop shop of Intermedia applications available on AWS.

As an independent provider of Exchange, the company helps AWS customers and partners overcome the challenges often associated with migrating to, deploying and managing their on-premises Exchange environment on the cloud. Firm’s Cloud Concierge experts migrate an average of 15,000 mailboxes every month without downtime or data loss. With HA, enterprises avoid the complexities and administrative overhead of managing and maintaining their own on-premises cloud deployment.

For MSPs and VARs, the firm assists with the challenges of migrating email to the cloud, including deployment and management concerns.

Liam Eagle, senior analyst, service providers, 451 Research, said: “Two market leaders have come together to address an unmet need of enterprise customers moving to the cloud. Intermedia’s Dedicated Exchange on AWS is a response to the requirements of larger customers that want to take their on-premises Exchange environment to the cloud.

Felix Yanko, president, Technology and Beyond, said:  “Exchange on AWS is perfect for enterprises that need a more customizable email solution on a premium single-tenant cloud. Intermedia offers a unique single-tenant deployment on AWS cloud. If customers were to host Exchange on their own, they’d need a full team in place. As an Intermedia channel partner, I highly recommend this solution.”

[1] Intermedia commissioned Researchscape International to survey over 300 U.S. IT managers (in organizations with 400 to 11,999 employees) that were using or intending to use AWS. The purpose of the research was to determine which applications are moving to the cloud and when.
