IBM TS1140 and TS1150 Tape Device Rackmount Kit With Two Drives

IBM TS1140 and TS1150 Tape Drive rackmount kit features support RoHS compliance in a 3U form factor for space efficiency

The rackmount kit has a new design that ensures newer generations of enteprise tape drives to be installed on most 19-inch racks for better space utilization. The kit is compatible with TS4500 drives with RoHS 3 compliance. It is available in a 3U form factor and encloses up to two TS1140 (3592-EH7) or TS1150 (3592-EH8) tape drives (2U height), including adjustable depth shelves for rack adaptability. It is equipped with two redundant, hot-swappable power supplies, two C13-C14 power cords for both tape drives, and a logic card for management of power.

With the common canister design, the high-density enterprise tape drives from T4500 can be integrated seamlessly with the rack mount kit, enabling installation and removal from either the front or the back without any tooling.

A drive filler panel (feature number 4806) can be also be used when only one tape drive resides on a rack mount kit.

Key prerequisites
TS1140 and TS1150 are supported in environments including select IBM Power Systems and other servers running AIX, Linux, Oracle Solaris, and Windows OS environments.
