For nearly 30 years, organizations have partnered with MS Geslam to ensure that their past and future technology investments are integrated.
Whether managing customer data through its hosted services or developing installation and migration systems, customers have relied on the expertise of MS Geslam to optimize their technology infrastructures. MS Geslam prides itself on understanding the needs and vision of its customers, and offers tailored solutions through:
- Integration: Installation and migration of systems and servers, multi-site deployment, and networking and infrastructure architecture.
- Optimization: 24/7 system monitoring and device management and preventive maintenance.
- Protection: Protection of systems and devices, multi-layer and granular network and telecommunications protection.
- Hosted Services: Data hosting, management and replication, DR, online backup, remote monitoring and management of IT infrastructures.
- ‘One Stop Shop’: Provider of software and solutions for personal work places, storage servers and networking as well as other specialized applications.
Challenge: Slower customer backup times and limited backup capabilities drive
change to an unified solution
With customer data growing quickly, MS Geslam needed a unified solution that would allow them to backup any type of customer data, while continuing to meet RPOs and RTOs. Prior to implementing Arcserve UDP, the organization leveraged a data protection solution that limited its ability to back up only virtual workstations. Moreover, there was no solution in place for physical backups.
With its focus aimed at customer satisfaction, MS Geslam saw these limitations as a challenge it needed to overcome, and sought out a data protection solution to meet the evolving needs of its customer base.
Solution: Dynamic and Scalable, Arcserve UDP reduces data protection complexity
When the data set of one its largest customers grew to 115TB, MS Geslam knew it needed to act fast. Already having built a relationship through the Trust X Alliance, the organization turned to Arcserve to assist in finding a next-generation, yet easy-to-use solution that would broaden its backup capabilities and reduce customer data redundancy.
Its decision to switch from a competitive data protection solution to Arcserve UDP was not a difficult one. Within 90 days, Arcserve had visited MS Geslam’s site to develop a backup and recovery strategy with its engineers, deployed the UDP solution and completed training.
With Arcserve UDP, the organization is able to offer protection for any form of customer data and significantly reduce data redundancy through its powerful deduplication capabilities. Moreover, its backup times and frequency have improved – further increasing its efficiencies for customers.
Benoit Rainville, presiden, MS Geslam, recommends that MSPs look for a powerful solution that is also easy to use.
He comments: “UDP does a lot of things, but it’s easy to learn and the go-to-market time is short. Further, it’s easy to sell because of its simplicity.”
Benefits: Drastic results just a few clicks away
The first success indicator of Arcserve UDP’s capabilities was the considerable reduction in necessary storage for customer data. Previously, one of MS Geslam’s largest customers required 115TB of storage space. After the implementation of Arcserve UDP, the organization was able to leverage its proprietary deduplication capabilities to reduce the customers’ data size to 9.2TB, a 92% reduction.
Further, the days of slow backups are gone. With Arcserve UDP, MS Geslam can backup data more than 20 times per day, enabling it to meet RPO and RTO.
